Organisers of the Olympic and Paralympic games have chosen Stafford, Gnosall and Haughton as three of 1000 villages, towns and cities through which torchbearers will carry the iconic symbol.
But we want all our community to be a part of this once in a life time event on Wednesday 30 May 2012.
So if you are planning an Olympic themed event in 2012, or any other initiative to celebrate the games, then we want to know, email 2012@staffordbc.gov.uk with details.
This 2012 web page will be updated with the latest information and events as we prepare to celebrate this once in a lifetime event...
The 'Local Leaders' initiative is an invitation to people to take the 2012 Games into their community and create their own celebrations next year, for the Olympic Torch Relay and other key moments during the Olympic and Paralympic Games. For more information on ideas to join in and to get materials to help support your 2012 event see the London 2012 Local Leaders page.
The Community Games also provides a great opportunity to bring communities together to take part in sporting and cultural activities inspired by, and in celebration of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
