Stafford Family Bike Ride

Family Bike RideStafford - Ranton - Derrington - Seighford - Stafford

Stafford Family Bike Ride is a free led ride around the traffic free trails and quiet lanes to the west of Stafford and has proved a big hit with families in previous years with around 100 people of all ages taking part.  Organised by the Sustainable and Healthy Communities team it links together local tourism with active health to cut climate changing emissions.  There is a wealth of beautiful countryside, places of interest and local pubs just a short ride from Stafford town centre.  The Family Bike Ride encourages families to explore these local treasures whilst getting fit and active.  The event supports the local economy and reduces car travel.

The Family Bike Ride will not be running in 2011 but we promote the route and hope you take a trip anyway.

The Route

The Family Bike Ride leaves Sainsbury's car-park at 11am and follows the Greenway to Haughton before visiting the Hand and Cleaver (Ranton Green), Red Lion (Derrington) and Hollybush (Seighford).  Riders should bring a picnic and can chose between a 10 mile or 15 mile route.  All children should be accompanied by an adult.
