Eccleshall Town Centre

Eccleshall Town Centre Inn - Page 6571Eccleshall is a small country town set in the depths of the Staffordshire countryside in the beautiful Sow Valley unspoiled by the passage of time.

Eccleshall too has its own castle formerly home to the Bishops of Lichfield.

If there is such a place as middle England, then Eccleshall must surely be part of it. The 13th century church ringing out its welcome, the sound of leather on willow during the summer weekends. The wide variety of pubs, restaurants and take away establishments. Fifty of the most inviting shops catering for everyday and the special needs of our visitors. Over sixty organisations and 267 businesses flourish here.

On the main coaching routes through England, Eccleshall first made its name as a crossroads between the then major towns of our country and is still filled with former coaching inns providing travellers with rest and Sustenance.

A biennial Festival which fills the town with events for nine actions packed days. A farmers market every fourth Saturday in the month filled with local produce. An open gardens weekend and a town centre alive with colourful blooms in the summer time.

The parish is crisscrossed by over 130 public footpaths maintained by the Parish council and detailed in a set of free leaflets.

A wonderful place to live, work and relax.
