Grants For Empty Homes

An empty home is a wasted resource. We may be able to help owners of empty homes undertake repairs and improvements to their empty home, to help them bring the home back into use.

A grant of up to 50% of the cost of work needed to bring a property up to the decent home standard will be available to assist owners of an empty property. On completion of the work the property will need to;

• Meet the decent home standard.
• Not be let, or sublet, as a house in multiple occupation.
• Be registered with any Accreditation Scheme supported by the Council.

(Currently the North Staffordshire Accreditation Scheme)

The maximum grant will be £5,000.

The applicant must have had an owner's interest in the dwelling for a minimum of 12 months, prior to approval of the grant.
