Getting Involved

In Stafford Borough's Local Nature Reserves

Friends of...

Many of Stafford Borough's Local Nature Reserves have "Friends of..." groups attached to them.  The groups are made up of local residents and volunteers who help look after the Local Nature Reserve and implement the management plan.  They also hold meetings, work days and other events on the reserves and sometimes produce leaflets and websites too.  If you would like to get involved please contact the Biodiversity Officer.  Link: Contact Us

Local Nature Reserve Fortnight

A national fortnight to celebrate Local Nature Reserves is held every July.  A programme of events is held and people are encouraged to get involved with their Local Nature Reserve.  Local schools, youth clubs, community groups and other organisations are all encouraged to participate.  This is now part of BBC Breathing Paces

We have also set up a place for people to show off their photographs of Stafford Borough's LNRs.  These could be landscapes, pictures of birds, flowers or other wildlife on an LNR or photos from your latest visit.  We have set up a Flickr Group called Stafford Borough Local Nature Reserves.  Anyone can go and have a look but you will need to become a Flickr member to upload your photos - it's free and fun.
