How To Pay Your Council Tax and Business Rates

Your bill is issued with a maximum of ten instalments - payable monthly (as required by the law governing Council Tax and Business Rates). Details of how to pay are shown on your Council Tax or Business Rates Bill.

Please note that the Civic Centre does not offer a cash receipting service, please make your payment using one of the other methods detailed below.

By Direct Debit

Direct Debit is recommended to all our customers, as this is the most efficient method of payment. Instalments are automatically collected from your Bank or Building Society as they fall due so there is no paperwork to bother with once it is set up. You will always be informed well in advance of your monthly instalments giving you time to query them if necessary.

The Council offers a choice of dates for Direct Debit: 3rd, 10th, 17th or 24th of the month.

To obtain a form telephone the Council Tax helpline on 01785 619279 or the Business Rates helpline on 01785 619282, or email revenues@staffordbc.gov.uk
