All web pages can switch to 'TEXT-ONLY' mode to stop images being displayed. The 'TEXT ONLY' link can be found at the top of every web page.

Changing text size on normal web pages
  • Internet Explorer:
    Click on View > Text Size > Select preferred text size (largest, larger, medium, smaller, smallest)
  • Firefox:
    View > Text Size > Select 'Increase', 'Decrease' or 'Normal'
  • Safari:                                                                                                    View > Make Text Bigger

Listen to this site being read aloud

To hear the web pages being read aloud please download the free software by clicking on the Browsealoud logo.

 Download and Install Browsealoud

Once you have installed the software the Browsealoud icon will appear in the system tray at the bottom right of the screen.  As you move the cursor the text it is highlighted and spoken aloud. 

You can customise your Browsealoud settings by right clicking on the icon.

The text-only mode will help when having the site read aloud, as can the "Skip navigation" button at the top of each page, which allows you to skip straight to the content of a page and avoid having the menus read out.
