Entries open for the school and family fun run
Date: 6 Feb, 2012
Children and parents can now sign up for a popular fun run in Stafford which forms part of the town’s annual half marathon programme.
Entries are now open for this year’s Stafford Borough Council School and Family Fun Run, with online booking and payment available for the first time at www.staffordbc.gov.uk/funrun
The event will take place on Sunday 25 March. Children from schools in the borough can enter for free if they register before Friday 9 March.
The one-mile run around Stafford’s town centre will start in the Market Square at 10.10 am – with organisers reminding runners to remember it’s the day the clocks go forward.
The event is open to all ages and abilities and medals will be awarded to everyone who finishes. Fancy dress is encouraged with spot prizes handed out to those in the best and most creative costumes.
An adult supervisor must accompany all children under the age of 12, and will be subject to the normal entry fee of £4 for individuals or £12 for groups of 4.
There will be on the day entries, subject to availability on Sunday 25 March. You can enter on the day from 8.30 am but it will cost everyone – including borough school children – an extra £2.
All fun runners must complete an entry form and the fee includes postage and packaging with race numbers sent out early March.
