New Stafford event to have your say about your care
Date: 3 Jan, 2012
New proposals include how patient feedback about hospitals, GP surgeries, dentists, social services and beyond could be managed and investigated in a different way, namely by a new and powerful independent organisation.
If proposals are passed, Staffordshire will see a sea change in how the system currently works whereby complaints and feedback are only investigated by the organisation being complained about.
Research has shown that many complaints are either unrecorded or not investigated, which can lead to major breaches in safe and quality care.
Over a 1,000 people have already completed the online consultation form, but organisers are also holding a consultation event in Stafford on January 11 for anyone else who wants to come along and have their say.
Anyone wanting to attend the event must book their place on 01785 277502 or healthandsocialcareconsultation@staffordshire.gov.uk and tell organisers if they have any special requirements. The event will see a presentation from organisers and a question and answer session. It will take place at The David Jones Centre, 96a Stone Road, Stafford, ST16 2RS from 6pm to 8pm. Places are limited and are booked on a first come first served basis.
Anyone wanting to have their say but can’t attend the event can fill in the online form at www.staffordshire.gov.uk/healthandsocialcareconsultation or email comments to healthandsocialcareconsultation@staffordshire.gov.uk
If you would like a hard copy of the survey or a copy of the survey in any other formats, please telephone 01785 276820. The deadline for receipt of all comments is 16 January 2012.
