Sport Stafford Borough Awards for 2011

Sport Stafford Borough Awards Evening is an annual event that recognises local achievements in sport during the year.

The awards (listed below) recognise individual, club and volunteer success in 2011 and acknowledge achievements in a variety of sports in the Borough. 

The 2011 Awards Evening took place on Friday 2nd March 2012.

Male Sports Performer of the Year

Winner: Joe Clark (Canoeing)

 Finalists: Mark Neeld (Running), Brian Camfield (Cycling)

Female Sports Performer of the Year 

Winner: Lizzie Neave (Canoeing)

Finalists: Alison Brind (Running), Tammi Bennett (Boxing)

Most Improved Sports Performer

Winner: Sarah Gough (Cricket)

 Finalists: Eleanor Proud (Athletics), Emma Hamplett (Athletics)

Under 18 Male Sports Performer 

Winner: Will Davies (Cricket)

Finalists: Stuart Taylor (Archery)

 Under 18 Female Sports Performer 

Winner: Jasmine Royal (Canoeing)

Finalists: Charlotte Millward (Wakeboarding), Bethan Rees (Athletics)

Senior Team Performance of the Year

Winner: Stoke RUFC (Rugby)

Finalists: Stafford Town Ladies FC (Football), Stone Ladies Hockey Club (Hockey)

Junior Team Performance of the Year 

Winner: St Dominics Rowing Academy (Rowing)

Finalists: Milford Cricket Club (Cricket), Stafford Town Under 14 Boys (Football)

Coach of the Year

Winner: Peter Hornby (Martial Arts)

Finalists: Dave Cartlidge (Cricket), Dave Sandford (Multi Sports) 

Special Contribution to Sport Award 

Winner: Pete Fowler (Football)
