Our Bereavement Services are based at the Tixall Road Crematorium in Stafford. See below for the Crematorium opening times.
We have three cemeteries; the Crematorium and burial ground at Tixall Road in Stafford, the Eccleshall Road Cemetery in Stafford and Stone Cemetery off the A34 in Stone.
Improvements to facilities at Stafford Bereavement Services have now been completed. The service was recently given a 'Silver' award, by the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management, for its work: including cremations, burials, maintenance of the grounds and the back office functions.
The Cemeteries and Crematorium are open to the public on the following days:
October to March - Monday to Saturday - 9.00am to 4.30pm
October to March - Sunday and Bank Holidays - 10.00am to 4.30pm
April to September - Monday to Saturday - 9.00am to 8.00pm
April to September - Sunday and Bank Holidays - 10.00am to 8.00pm
We have directions to the Stafford Crematorium, Stone Cemetery and Eccleshall Cemetery available if you're unsure on their location.
Pupils from Weston Road High School in Stafford planted bulbs in the infants and children's Rainbow Garden at the Tixall Road cemetery on Monday 9 January. The ten children are all members of the Weston Road High School gardening club.
It is the first in a number of initiatives between the borough council’s crematorium and the local school with projects such as making nest boxes and a competition to design a small garden already in the pipeline.
The flowers included Daffodils, Crocus and Tulips. The selection of bulbs were donated by flower specialist, Lubbe Lisse, and once the work was completed the pupils enjoyed tea and cake from the onsite café - ‘Hearts and Flowers’
If you are attending a service, have travelled a distance to visit, or would simply like to sit down with a cup of tea after visiting a loved one, then please visit our on-site Café and Florist that offers a range of refreshments including home baked cakes, freshly made sandwiches and other light snacks.
‘Hearts and Flowers’ is open seven days a week. Opening hours: October to March are 9am to 4pm on weekdays and 10am to 4pm at weekends. April to September opening hours are 9am to 5pm and 10am to 4pm at weekends.
Open Days are held to enable members of the public to meet members of the Crematorium staff and to view Crematorium buildings and grounds. These are advertised locally. For further information please contact the Office.
Memorial services for 2012 will be held at 2.30pm in the Crematorium Chapel on the following dates:
Close relatives are invited to attend. The services will last approximately 45 minutes.
