Staffordshire County Council

In conjunction with Stoke-on-Trent City Council the County Council produce the Structure Plan, Local Transport Plan, Minerals Local Plan and Waste Local Plan.

Structure Plan

The Structure Plan contains policies to guide development across the County and sets out how much housing and employment land is required within each District. The current Structure Plan covers the period 1996 - 2011 and was adopted in May 2001. You can view the development plan at the County Councils Development Plan page.

Local Transport Plan

Staffordshire County Council are putting together the third Local Transport Plan (LTP3), covering a period from 2011 to 2026. It will include the entire county, and be split into a Strategy and an Implementation Plan. For further information please see the County Councils Local Transport Plan.

Waste and Minerals

As with Local Plans there is an adopted Minerals and Waste Plan. However, as with the Local Development Framework under the regulations of Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, Minerals and Waste are also covered, and the County Council must produce a Minerals and Waste Development Framework (MWDF). Like an LDF, the MWDF must have the same components, such as a Statement of Community Involvement and a Sustainability Appraisal. For further information see the County Councils Planning Policy page.

Rights of Way

Staffordshire County Council, as highway authority, is responsible for the maintenance of public rights of way. For further information see the County Councils Rights of Way page.
