Stafford Half Marathon

Congratulations to all the participants who took part in this year's event.

The 26^th Stafford Half Marathon took place on Sunday 21 March with a record number of entrants signing up to run the 13.1 miles around Stafford.

Crowds lined the route to cheer on the competitors with many gathering in the Market Square to urge the runners over the finish line where they saw two new course records being set.

Tipton Harriers, Ben Gamble took the number one spot, in a time of 1:08:52 beating the course record that he set last year in 2009. Elizabeth Stavreski, Thames Hare and Hounds was the first female across the line in a time of 1:24:35 and Rob Wickham, Handcycling UK, also set a new course record finishing with a time of 42:46, knocking 2 minutes 7 seconds of the record he also set in 2009.

A few of you may be vowing "never again!" but for those of you already looking forward to taking part next year the race will be held on Sunday 20 March 2011, entries will open both online and at the Gatehouse Box Office during November 2010.
