Stafford Half Marathon

		Sunday 21 March 2010 Starts at 10.30am in Stafford Street Please Note: Entries have now closed for the 2010 Stafford Half Marathon: we have reached race capacity for the event earlier than the original deadline date [Friday 5 February]. Race numbers and handbooks will be sent to entrants early March 2010.

Stafford Half Marathon is promoted by Stafford Borough Council Leisure and Culture, Civic Centre, Riverside, Stafford, ST16 3AQ.

All places are non refundable and entries cannot be deferred to 2011 (but may be transferred to another runner). Personal details for the transferred runner must be provided by Friday 12 March 2010 to conform to UK Athletics rules/for health and safety reasons. Declaration All participants who enter the Stafford Half Marathon agree that they are an amateur under UK Athletics laws and declare they will be 17 years or over on the day of the race. They accept that they are medically fit to participate in the event and that the organisers shall not be liable for any accidents, injury, loss or damage as a consequence of their participation in the race.

		Important Information - Open to men and women aged 17 years and over. - Places are available on a first come first served basis (maximum 2,000 runners). - Your entry can only be guaranteed once we have received your entry details and payment before the closing date (Friday 5 February 2010). - All places are non refundable and 2010 entries cannot be deferred to 2011 (but may be transferred to another runner only if personal details are provided by Friday 12 March 2010 to conform to UK Athletics rules/for health and safety reasons. - Fast course 13.1 miles (accurately measured). - Course closes at 1.00pm. - North Staffs Road Runners Association event. - This event is run under the UK Athletics rules. - UK Athletics race licence applied for. - Medal and t-shirt available to all participants (new for 2010).

		The Route The 2010 route will be similar to the 2009 revised route (to accomodate the 2,000 runners) - it may be slightly altered due to town centre road works. Details to be confirmed. The start area will be in Stafford Street and the town centre loop has been removed. Route map - coming soon

		Your Stories... We welcome your stories about the event at sports-events@staffordbc.gov.uk - it would be nice to share these and inspire others to take part in future events! See participants comments from 2008 Run For Charity... A huge number of runners work hard raising money for good causes. If you fancy getting sponsored for your run and are looking for a charity to support, The Mayor of Stafford's Charity Appeal supports some very worthy local causes. Please note that charity collections are not permitted on the race day due to health and safety and licensing issues.
