How To Pay Your Council Tax and Business Rates

 

By Direct Debit

Direct Debit is recommended to all our customers, as this is the most efficient method of payment. Instalments are automatically collected from your Bank or Building Society as they fall due so there is no paperwork to bother with. You will always be informed well in advance of your monthly instalments giving you time to query them if necessary.

Cash, Cheques, Or By Post

Payment can be made at the Civic Centre as listed under Contact Us, or by post.  Make your cheque payable to STAFFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL. Please write your Reference Number and name, address on the back. Post-dated cheques will not be accepted.

 

 

Credit And Debit Cards

Automated 24 hour telephone system

Telephone your payment on Stafford (01785) 619271. You will need your Council Tax reference number, your card details and the amount you wish to pay    or       present your card to the Cashiers on the Ground Floor at the Civic Centre, Stone Area Office.

 

 

At A Post Office

Trans-cash forms are available at most Post Offices. Please quote your Reference Number, name and address, the Council's Giro Account Number 4134125. The Post Office may charge a handling fee.

 

 

At Barclays Bank

Bank Giro credit slips are available at Barclays Bank. Please quote your Reference Number, the Council's Account Number 10841730 Barclays Bank plc, Stafford, Sort Code 20-81-00.

 

 

Standing Order

Forms are available for you to complete at your bank or Building Society. Please quote your Reference Number, the Council's Account Number 10841722 Barclays Bank plc, Stafford, Sort Code 20-81-00.

Half Yearly Payment

If you wish to pay half  yearly, payment of the first half year equivalent to five monthly instalments is due on 3  April, the second half yearly payment is due on 3 September.
