18th January - 2nd February

Realising the Sensation  -  Claire Lord

Landscapes and life drawings from 2007 in charcoal, pastel and pen make up this wonderful exhibition. 

 

 

5th February - 8th March

Pictures at an Exhibition (The Second Movement)  -  Derek Tamea

Derek returns to the Ancient High House with a collection of photographs taken during the last year.  The collection comprises never before seen portraits of some of the photographer's many and varied clients.

 

 

11th March - 3rd April

Natural Sources by Foremost Impressions  - Ann White, Brenda Berry, Val Brewin and Margaret Fairhead

Four local textile artists illustrate the use of a common theme in this fascinating display. 

 

 

8th April -  19th April

Stafford Art Group

Stafford Art Group display their selected exhibition of mixed media work. 

 

 

22nd April - 3rd May

The Power of Flowers  - Jan Macleod

A stunning selection of flower portraits and botanical work in watercolour, coloured pencil and acrylic.

 

 

6th May - 17th May

Broadeye Textiles  -  Stafford College Students 

Featuring a wide range of textiles and mixed media work by a group of students who have completed Creative Studies Courses at Stafford College.

 

 

13th May - 30th August

In Sickness and in Health:

Medical Treatment in Stafford 1750 - 1900  -  Local History Exhibition

This exhibition examines the changes in medical treatment in the growing town of Stafford, and the development in the provision of care in the town's hospitals and asylums.

Supported by Staffordshire Museum Service, the County Records Office and William Salt Library. 

 

 

20th May - 31st May

Portrayals  -  Elizabeth Christie

Portraits and figurework from photographs and real life are on display in this inspiring exhibition.

 

 

3rd June - 21st June

Together in a Wilderness  -  Sue Chatterton and Howarth Powell

Echoes of Movement and sounds, images that inspire, rambles into the wild, experiences that compound to create vibrant living memories that are imbedded in the mind urging to be transformed into paintings and photographs.

 

 

24th June - 12th July

Pictorial Compositions and Embroidery  -  John Beard

An exciting exhibition of watercolours, pencil drawings, paintings and embroideries depicting scenes of local and far afield places in England, all executed with wonderful detail.  Also incorporating embroideries of both semi tropical and wild British bird species.  

 

 

15th July - 26th July

Field of Dreams - Pedro Ojeda, Frank Correa and Nieves Martin

A unique opportunity to see surreal paintings and drawings by a group of Spanish Artists.

 

 

29th July -  9th August

Painting for Pleasure

A Recreational Community Adult Art Course at Walton High School is the source of this painting exhibition.

 

 

12th August - 13th September

Aviation Art and Models  - Tony Smith

A love of anything to do with aircraft by the artist makes this a wonderful aviation themed exhibition of paintings and aircraft models.

 

 

9th September - 30th December

Stafford in Days Gone By  -  Local History Exhibition

A glimpse into past life and times in the county town.

Supported by the Staffordshire Museum service, the County Records Office and William Salt Library.

 

 

16th September - 27th September

All Stitched Up  -  Maggie Johnson and Joan Bray

A mixed media and stitched textiles exhibition, predominantly machine and hand embroidered panels and hangings with both artists showing their own distinct style.

 

 

30th September - 11th October

Art Of Spirit

An exhibition of portraits, drawings and paintings produced by Staffordshire group members of the 'Society of Spirit Artists' under the leadership of Ann Jacqueline Davies BEd.

Crafty Fingers  -  Elaine Plimmer

An introduction to patchwork and quilting with a little bit of felt, traditional and pictorial.

 

 

4th November - 29th November

Box of Delights  -  Carole Glover, Bob Thacker and Andy Barrett

A mixture of traditional and contemporary wood fired pots, stunning fused glass jewellery, traditional lead panels and photographs preserving images of culture make this a true box of delights.

 

 

2nd December - 3rd January 2009

Sculpture Through the Eyes of a Disabled Man  -  Steve Eastwood

After having a major stroke at the age of 19, Steve discovered an talent for sculpting he never knew he had.  Incorporating architectural designs by Richard Boote, this is a fascinating exhibition of various themes, sizes and materials.
