We will:

  • Provide a fully inclusive two course meal for a set price each day, in line with National Nutritional Standards.
  • Provide a choice of menu items to select from.
  • Provide dishes which are both nutritious and excellent value for money.
  • Provide dishes which are prepared by qualified catering staff using high quality products.
  • Provide a safe working environment in which to dine.

You can help us by:

  • Speaking to us, the Headteacher or any of the School Governors about any of the problems you have, or any suggestions you have for the improvement of our service.
  • Coming into school on a pre-arranged appointment to see for yourself the service being provided.
  • Letting us know if you have any special dietary needs.

The standards say that lunches for primary school pupils must contain at least one item from each of the following food groups

1 Starchy foods such as bread, potatoes, rice and pasta. Starchy foods cooked in oil or fat should not be served more than three times a week
2 Fruit and a vegetable must be available every day. Fruit based desserts must be available twice a week
3 Milk and dairy foods.
4 Meat, fish and alternative sources of protein including cheese. Red meat must be served twice a week. Fish must be served at least once per week.

a Drinking water should be available to all pupils every day, free of charge
b Schools should offer some hot food, particularly in the winter
c Drinking Milk should be available as an option every day
