Licence - gaming machines

Gambling Act 2005

The Gambling Act 2005 introduces a new system of Licences and Permits for Gambling activities and comes into force on 1 September 2007. Section 34 permits issued under the Gaming Act 1968 that allow gaming machines (also known as fruit machines or amusement with prizes machines) in pubs and alcohol licensed premises will be replaced by either a notification for under 2 machines or a permit for over 2 machines. These permits and notifications will be dealt with by the Licensing Authority. The licensing authority for Stafford Borough Council and the permits and notifications will be dealt with by the Licensing Section who can be contacted on 01785 619402.
