The oldest and largest of all the classic shows, The International Classic Motorcycle Show is very much a traditional show that attracts the best from around the world. In 1912, a Pumping Station was constructed at Mill Meece, 2 miles south of the Hatton Pumping Station, which had been built between 1890-1907. The old pumping station together with the steam driven plant, which last pumped water into the supply on December 22nd 1979, is now leased to the Mill Meece Pumping Station Preservation Trust, who officially took over the station under the auspices of the Severn Trent Water Authority on May 31st 1981. So take a step back in time and come and experience the sight, sound and smell of these two Gentle Giants when in steam in 2008. Free admission. Static viewing most Sundays from 1pm to 5pm. Featuring rare livestock breeds, dance displays, musical performances, hot air balloon rides and much, much more, the annual Staffordshire County Show is a fantastic event. Celebrating all that is great about the country way of life, the show includes a popular sheep shearing competition and demonstration as well as a vintage farm machinery display. Aside from the serious business of the many livestock and animal competitions, there are plenty of light-hearted attractions for young and old alike including a miniature railway, tug-of-war competitions and a traditional Punch and Judy show. The event also includes some more unusual attractions such as the Ferret Roadshow and the Quack Pack Sheepdog and Duck Display.

There will also be a Flower Festival over three days in the Holy Trinity Church from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd June, the grounds to Eccleshall Castle will be open to the public on Sunday 29th June and the traditional Victorian Street Market will be open from 10am until 4pm on Saturday 21st June.

Look out for the famous secrete garden; High Coley Garden with its fantastic views and pond feature; the beautiful cottage gardens; and not forgetting the local allotments, which will be open all day with produce on display. Rob Nairn is a Meditation Master, Author & International Lecturer. He is a world-class speaker and has taught in many countries including South Africa, Spain, Italy, Britain and Iceland. Via Samye Ling Monastery in Scotland he is involved in setting up a new postgraduate course in Mindfulness in conjunction with Aberdeen University and also new courses for NHS health professionals who are teaching Mindfulness in professional settings.
