We offer the following service

  • A waste and recycling service is provided for most domestic premises within Stafford Borough. The services are  operated on behalf of the Council by our contractor Biffa Waste Services Limited.
  • In certain circumstances it is possible that we may offer an assisted collection service. The collection from your doorstep is available for people with disabilities or mobility problems. It is also available to people who find it difficult to move their bin because of steep slopes or steps.
  • Special arrangements are made for the collection of refuse from community properties eg flats
  • Larger families of five or more may be eligible for a larger wheeled bin on request.

Please contact us on 01785 619402 for further details of any of the above. TOP

Conditions of the service

  • One green wheeled bin is provided per household and only domestic waste placed in the bin will be taken
  • Please ensure that wheeled bins are placed ready at your point of collection by 7.00 a.m. on collection day.
  • Please ensure that the bin is clearly visible to the collection crew and that it is not causing inconvenience to others.
  • Please ensure that the lid on your wheeled bin is completely closed or it will not be taken.
  • If your wheeled bin is too heavy to be handled safely it will not be emptied. If this happens you will be notified by a label attached to your bin.
  • Please do not put items in your wheeled bin or sack which could be a health & safety risk to the collectors or cause problems at disposal sites. Sharp objects should be wrapped up securely.
  • Please check that you are not throwing away anything that can be recycled by Stafford Borough Council.  TOP
  • Please remember that food waste must be securely wrapped and tied.  The bin lid must be closed.
