Plastic of any description.  Soil, stone, rubble or turf. Any household waste. Animal Waste. Any food waste.  Cardboard and shredded paper.  TOP

Why can I no longer use the brown bin for cardboard and shredded paper?

Following new guidance, we are no longer able to accept cardboard and shredded paper in the brown bin from 8 September 2008, please place these items in your blue bin; cardboard in the main body of the bin and shredded paper in the caddy.  TOP

Why wasn't my BROWN garden waste wheeled bin emptied today?

There are a number of reasons why your garden waste wheeled bin may not have been emptied. It may not have been out at 07.00 am,it may contain plastic bags, cardboard, shredded paper (after 8 September 2008), the lid may not have been completely closed, or it may have been excessively heavy for example containing soil, as this will damage the freighter's mechanism and be a manual handling hazard for the collection operatives. A notice will have been placed on the bin giving the reason for non-collection. Unfortunately the bin will not be emptied until the next scheduled collection day (in a fortnight).  Occasionally road works, parked cars and other unforeseen circumstances may hinder collection. Please contact us to find out what alternative arrangements have been made to collect the bins. If the collection has genuinely been missed by the operatives the crew will return as soon as possible but definitely by the end of the next working day.  TOP
