Environmental services - out of hours emergencies

 

This Authority realises that people are often disturbed by noise outside normal office hours, in order to address this problem we operate an Out of Hours Service during times when people are most likely to be disturbed.

My disturbance is not covered by this service what do I do?

This service covers:

  • Complaints of amplified music & burglar alarms
  • Outbreaks of infectious diseases
  • Fatalities in the workplace

The hours of operation are:

Friday, Saturday 7pm - 2am

Sunday 7pm - Midnight

To contact this service between the hours of 7pm - 2am Friday or Saturday or 7pm - Midnight on Sunday, phone 01785 619170, and your complaint will be referred to a Duty Officer. Outside these times you will need to contact 01785 619402 during  normal office hours.

Other types of noise disturbance are not covered by this service, and should be reported the following working day. Please call 01785 619402 during normal working hours to report noise problems not covered by this service.

Although each call is an emergency to the caller, the majority of calls received can be dealt with by advice or referral to a more appropriate service, but the duty officer will normally be available and may visit to take the necessary enforcement action. This service is well used by residents who become aggrieved in evenings, weekends and over the holiday periods when the offices are closed.
