Stafford Castle

Cold Plates

'Cold plates are traditionally sent out to the estate workers in the fields.  We send out baskets of food at harvest time and flagons of our own brewed Shugborough ale.'

 

Homemade Flan

'Do try my homemade savoury flan.  The crisp pastry case made with flour from Shugborough's own mill, and a different filling everyday.  I serve it with seasonal salad and hand cut bread.'

 

Shugborough Classics

'Such as the master's favourite 'Braised Oxtail with Parsnip Mash' or the famous 'Shugborough Sausage' with a recipe known only by three living persons.'

 

Traditional Cream Tea

'Indulge yourself with our cream tea.  Home-made scones made with Shugborough flour, served with local butter, jam and fresh dairy cream.'
