Local Development Scheme 2005 (LDS)
The Local Development Scheme (LDS) sets out the work programme for preparing the Stafford Borough Local Development Framework. The Local Development Framework will include a number of Local Development Documents covering a range of spatial planning policies. The Local Development Scheme was agreed by Government Office for the West Midlands in February 2005 and brought into effect on 15 March 2005 by the Council's Executive.
The LDS will:
- give details of the Local Development Documents (LDDs) that will make up the LDF;
- give a timetable for the production of the LDDs to be produced by the Council;
- highlight the periods during the production of the LDF when public consultation will be undertaken;
- explain the relationships and chain of conformity between the LDDs; and
- highlight the geographical area covered by each LDD.

On the 13th July 2004 the Cabinet approved the LDS for submission to the Government Office. The Agenda and Minutes of this meeting can be viewed by clicking here . Included within the Agenda is the Cabinet Report containing a copy of the LDS.
Following the results of the Core Strategy Development Plan Document Examination process all work on the Local Development Framework has been suspended. For further information please click here. The Council has prepared a revised Local Development Scheme (2007) that will replace the 2004 document, that has now been agreed by Government Office West Midlands and has now been approved by the Council's Cabinet in September 2007. The 2007 LDS will contain the following Development Plan Documents (DPDs):
- Core Strategy DPD;
- Development Management DPD;
- Allocations and Site Specific Policy DPD.
