Submission - Core Strategy Development Plan Document

In August 2006 the Council received the Inspector's Binding Report on the Core Strategy Development Plan Document, following the Core Strategy examination which was held in June 2006. The Inspector's Binding Report recommends that the Core Strategy should not be adopted and should be withdrawn. Background

During October and November 2005 a period of consultation took place on the third and final stage of preparing the Core Strategy Development Plan Document through the Submission version to the Secretary of State. The consultation period closed at 12 noon on Monday 28 November 2005.

The Core Strategy Development Plan Document proceeded to the hearing sessions for the Examination by an independent Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State.  A Pre-Examination Meeting took place on Friday 10 March 2006 in the Civic Centre, Stafford Borough Council, Riverside, Stafford. Following the Final Sustainability Appraisal Report consultation stage the Revised Final Sustainability Appraisal Report was prepared to assess the Core Strategy in terms of sustainable development and has been made available to the Secretary of State for the Examination process.
