Policy and Improvement bring together 4 major strategic areas, which are Policy, Performance, Communications and Customer Service.  Each area is an important corporate function in its own right and directly supports Corporate Priority 4 'Leading and delivering for our Community'.

Present and Past Consultations      

The Communications Team promote and co-ordinate all internal and external communications of the Authority.  In particular, building and maintaining relationships with all media and press bodies in and around Stafford Borough.  They are also responsible for all the customer consultation/engagement and web development for the Council.

Our Customer Service section is responsible for creating a customer-focused environment within the Authority through the provision of an all-encompassing customer one-stop contact centre.  They are also responsible for providing the lead on the modernisation of service through the introduction of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Electronic Document Records Management (EDRM).

Comprehensive Performance Assessment 

Peer Assessment

The Performance Management Team are responsible for the promotion of a performance culture throughout the Borough Council by supporting its strategic function and facilitating the review and development of our SMART performance measures /indicators for the benefit of our stakeholders.  This team are responsible for the production of the Annual Report on behalf of the Borough Council.

The Policy team is responsible for the main corporate policy making capacity of the Borough Council and the Local Strategic Partnership, in particular the Local Delivery Board.  The team will drive the development of the Local Strategic Partnership/Local Delivery Board and assist in the implementation and monitoring of the Local Area Agreement and formulate the Sustainable Community Strategy. This team is also responsible for producing the 6-year Corporate Plan of the Authority.
