What stage are we at?
The Core Strategy Examination process has now closed. For further information about this closure please view the following letter from the Planning Inspectorate, received on Friday 7 July 2006.
In August 2006 the Council received the Inspector's Binding Report on the Core Strategy Development Plan Document, following the Core Strategy examination which was held in June 2006. The Inspector's Binding Report recommends that the Core Strategy should not be adopted and should be withdrawn. The process of consultation on the Submission Core Strategy Development Plan Document (DPD) took place during October and November 2005.
The Core Strategy DPD was subject to an independent Examination in June 2006 during which time an independent Planning Inspector considered whether the DPD is 'sound'. The Inspector prepared a report on the Core Strategy DPD, which is binding on Stafford Borough Council.
Appointment of Inspector
The Examination into the Core Strategy DPD had a series of hearing sessions between Tuesday 6 June and Friday 10 June 2006 at Stafford Borough Council, Civic Centre, Riverside, Stafford, ST16 3AQ.
The First Secretary of State appointed Mr David Fenton BA Hons MSc DipTP MRTPI to conduct the Examination. For further information on the Examination, please click on the link below.
Pre-Examination Meeting (PEM)
A Pre-Examination Meeting was held at 10 am on Friday, 10 March 2006 at the Civic Centre, Riverside, Stafford. This was a public meeting and all with an interest were welcome to attend.
The agenda was sent out to all respondents by the Programme Officer prior to the meeting.
