As part of Stafford Borough Council's involvement in Energy Saving Week we are challenging 'volunteer households' in Stafford Borough to join in the Energy Saving Trust's new consumer campaign, 'Save Your 20%'.  The 'Save Your 20%' theme aims to encourage individuals to adopt multiple energy saving measures in their everyday lives to help reduce 20% of their energy consumption and in turn do their bit to prevent climate change and reduce pressure on energy resources. We are also inviting Stafford Borough Councillors to volunteer their households to show their own energy saving efforts!

Taking part in the Energy Challenge will involve calling in at houses and measuring the gas or electricity meter on three occasions - the first reading will be a week before the Challenge. The second at the start of the Energy Challenge Week - when household teams will start their energy saving efforts - and lastly, at the end of the week - to see what difference has been made!

We will award prizes to those householders who have achieved the greatest energy savings and who have made the greatest efforts to be 'energy nibblers' rather than 'energy gluttons'!

If you would like to join in with the Energy Challenge to save your 20% please contact Karen Davies, Principal Officer - Sustainable Development, to arrange a convenient week in the near future for your Challenge.
