The following websites contain useful information relating to building conservation:
National Links
- English Heritage - Main advisory body for built heritage and advises councils on Grade I and II* Listed Buildings;
- Historic Environment Local Management (HELM) - Offshoot from English Heritage, consisting of public sector partnerships providing resources for other public sector bodies, including local authorities;
- Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) - Responsible for the listing of historic buildings;
- Institute for Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) - Professional institution consisting of conservation specialists/members. Useful resource, including papers and documents about the historic built environment.
- Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) - One of the very first institutions that started the movement in building conservation. Founded in 1877 by William Morris in reaction to over-zealous restoration of churches by the Victorians. One of the main principles of SPAB is a primary conservation practice of repair before restoration of historic fabric.

- Listed Property Owners Club - Provides advice for owners of listed buildings, informing them on the responsibilties of the upkeep of their properties.
