December 2007 - Annual Monitoring Report (AMR). The third AMR is now published which covers the progress of the Local Development Framework from 1st April 2006 to 31st March 2007. The AMR is submitted to Secretary of State (Government Office West Midlands) and the Regional Planning Body/West Midlands Regional Assembly (RPB). November 2007 - Streamlining Local Development Frameworks: Consultation. This consultation by the CLG follows up from the Planning White Paper earlier in May 2007 and will feed into the revised PPS12: 'Local Development Frameworks' that was originally published in 2004. The consultation was launched on Tuesday 27th November 2007 (alongside publication of the new Planning Bill) and closed on Tuesday 19th February 2008.

November 2007 - West Midlands Regional Spatial Strategy (RSS) Phase 3 Spatial Options. The latest round of RSS consultation covers the topics; critical rural services, culture/recreational provision, various regionally significant environmental issues and the provision of a framework for Gypsy and Travellers. This consultation was launched on Tuesday 27th November 2007 and closed on Friday 18th January 2008.

November 2007 - Limehouse Consultation. Stafford Borough Council have a new consultation system called Limehouse that will be used to consult on emerging Local Development Documents and notify representees on progress on other LDF matters. November 2007 - SA Scoping Report. With the commencement of the revised LDS, the SA Scoping Report is the first document to be released for consultation for the relaunced LDF. The Scoping Report is the first stage in the Sustainability Appraisal process and sets out the methodology in which to appraise emerging planning policies within the forthcoming Development Plan Documents. October 2007 - Stone Conservation Area Appraisal/Review. Stafford Borough council has appointed consultants to carry out an appraisal and review of the Stone conservation area. Work on this has just commenced and the draft appraisal will be published shortly.

September 2007 - Saved Local Plan policies. The Stafford Borough Local Plan 2001 as part of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 is saved in its entirety until 27th September 2007. The Secretary of State (Government Office West Midlands) has now made their decision on what policies should be saved beyond this date. September 2007 - Revised Local Development Scheme (LDS). A new LDS has now been approved by Government Office West Midlands that was brought into effect on 19 September 2007. This replaces the first published LDS that came into effect in March 2005. To view the Revised 2007 LDS, please click here.

June 2007 - Stafford Town Centre Conservation Area Appraisal/Review. Stafford Borough council has appointed consultants to carry out an appraisal and review of the Stafford Town centre conservation area. For more information on the Stafford Town Centre Conservation Area Appraisal please click here

June 2007 - PPG17 Assessment. Forward Planning alongide Leisure Services has launched a joint consultation on the Borough's Sport, Recreation and open spaces. The assessment will form part the evidence base for the LDF as well as developing strategies for leisure. To view more information about the consultation, please click here.

May 2007 - Planning White Paper. The government has published new consultation papers on the review of the current planning system that covers both planning policy and development control (permitted development). The deadline for responses was on 17th August 2007.

March 2007 - Waste Core Strategy Issues and Options. Staffordshire County Council have launched their Issues and Options paper for their Waste Core Strategy that is out to consultation from 30th March to 11th May 2007. January 2007 - West Midlands Regional Spatial Strategy (RSS) Phase 2 Spatial Options. The Spatial Options consultation for what will be the new RSS for the West Midlands was launched on Monday 8th January 2007 and closed on Monday 5th March.
