This study has been undertaken by Staffordshire County Council as part of the Evidence Base for the Stafford Borough LDF.
The purpose of the study is to show areas around the principal settlements within the Borough to highlight areas that may be sensitive to new development in terms of landscape character. This assessment summarises work undertaken alongside English Heritage during 2002/03.
The material presented is mixture between a written appraisal for each area, including maps highlighting historic environment designations, sensitivity buffer zones, historic landscape area designations and late medieval settlement patterns.
