FREE Cycling for Health Courses
The Sustainable and Healthy Communities Team at Stafford Borough Council has been successful in an application for funding from the Locality Health Board to set up a new pilot Cycling for Health project.
The Cycling for Health project will provide 10-session courses designed to enable people to access cycling to improve their health. The first course will commence on 22 November and limited places are available. The course will help project members to ride safely, feel confident cycling alone and with groups and build up to cycling regular led health rides that will be organised by the Cycling for Health project.

Family Fun Cycle Day and Cycling for Health Launch
The Cycling for Health pilot project was launched on 16 November at a Family Fun Cycle Day. The event was held at the Back-2-Bikes unit on Greyfriars Business Park. There was the opportunity to join rides for different abilities, learn about different types of bicycles and find the right one for you, get your bike checked out by Dr. Bike for free, learn basic cycle maintenance and safety and join in with a cycle treasure hunt. Stafford Borough Council's Cycling for Health Co-ordinator, Kim Squires was also be there to explain all about the Cycling for Health project and answer any questions.
