Communications

Welcome to the Borough Council Communications Team

The communications team performs the following roles within the council:

Media Relations - We act as the Borough Council's press office, dealing with more than 1,000 enquiries a year from journalists representing local, regional, national and technical media.

External Communications - Around 200 press releases are issued through the unit every year and are posted on the website. We also prepare community campaigns, such as the work on tackling litter. The team is also responsible for developing and maintaining the Council's website.

Internal Communications - The team produces an internal newsletter, "Inhouse", which is distributed to all Council employees. Development and maintenance of the Intranet, the Council's internal web pages, is also a function of the Communications team.
