The Tour of Britain 2008 - Stage 4 - Worcester to Stoke-on-Trent

On 10th September some of the World's best cyclists are coming through Stafford Brough as part of the Tour of Britain 2008. For the second year running the race is going to be starting at Worcester Race Course, before heading north towards a new venue for the Tour: Stoke-on-Trent. During the 157Km stage the riders will be passing through Stafford Borough so come out and support the stars and cheer on your favorite team.
The 4th stage of the 8 stage race offers plenty of chances for the riders to entertain and lots of great places for spectators to see the action unfold through Stafford Borough. The riders will be entering the Borough along the A519 at about 1:05pm and passing through Woodseaves (1:15pm) and Eccleshall (1:22pm) before heading for Stone. As the riders enter Stone there will be an exciting sprint (1:37pm) with race points and prizes on offer. The fast pace continues along the A520 climb up to Rough Close (13:46) where the peleton turns left down to Barlaston (1:51pm). The race then continues through Blurton and into Stoke-onTrent for a town centre finish outside Hanley Town Hall (2:08pm). (All times are based on 42km/h ave speed. The Tour of Britain will feature some of the World's top riders and best of all, it's completely free, so there's no excuse not to come and watch. There will also be TV coverage of the race every night on ITV 4.
