How Can I Avoid Getting a Parking Ticket?
Help us to help you park correctly.
Remember to
Remember not to
Check the signs and lines applicable to the space you are using. Double yellow lines no longer require road signs to be enforceable.
Assume you can park because other people have
Ensure you have the latest copy of the Highway Code and know your signs and lines
Assume that you can stop for a short time on yellow lines
Make sure that a valid pay and display ticket or permit is clearly displayed on the windscreen or dashboard (where appropriate)
Assume restrictions don't apply on a bank holiday unless the sign says that bank holidays are free
Park within a marked bay where applicable
Carry loose change for the meters
If you are a blue badge holder ensure you display it correctly and know where you can and cannot park
