Entry criteria
Established in 1996, the Green Award scheme recognises and publicises the hard work of local organisations and businesses which demonstrate an active commitment to good environmental practice and promote sustainable development. By being concerned about their environmental effects, organisations can help to ensure a better quality of life for everyone, both today and in the future. They can also achieve increased efficiency, reduced costs and improved competitiveness.
The overall winners of each category will receive a hardwood plaque made by a local craftsman from a sustainable source. Cash prizes will be awarded to outstanding initiatives to support ongoing or new projects relating to good environmental practice and sustainable development. There are additional prizes for runners up.
A number of the best applications will be put forward for a county wide Staffordshire Green Awards, which will be judged later in the year.
