The Plan for Stafford Borough - Draft Publication
The purpose of the Draft Publication consultation was to provide people across Stafford with the chance of shaping three new neighbourhoods as part of future development plans for the borough.
The proposals included:
- Around 5,500 homes built in the three new neighbourhoods
- An average of 350 houses to be built in Stafford town every year until 2031
- Up to 500 new homes on a new site at Stone after 2021
- Six new employment sites in the borough
The consultation on the 'Plan for Stafford Borough - Draft Publication' has now closed.
The new Plan for Stafford Borough, once adopted, will replace the Stafford Borough Local Plan 2001.
The document sets out where future development could go as well as planning policies covering a range of topics including climate change, housing, local economy, town centres, the environment and transport.
We invited comments on the document during September and October, with the consultation period closing at 12 noon on Friday 21 October 2011. You can view comments made on the document by clicking here. A number of public exhibitions across Stafford town and in Stone were
also held. You can view comments made at these exhibitions by clicking here.
