Water Cycle Study and Surface Water Management Strategy

The Council is working jointly with South Staffordshire District, Lichfield District, and Tamworth Borough to commission a Water Cycle Study and the first stages of a Surface Water Management Plan (SWMP). The Study provides evidence of what water resources and supply, water collection and treatment, and flood risk management measures will be needed to enable growth in each of the districts to be delivered.

The SWMP outlines the causes of surface water flooding, provides information and guidance for good drainage practice for new developments, identify opportunities to reduce existing surface water flood risk and provide a framework for the management of urban water quality.
