Coronavirus - what we are doing to help

We have delivered more than 650 food parcels since April and made nearly 3,000 safe and well calls to vulnerable residents.

If you need help, or know of someone who does, contact us at or 01785 619000

If you want to volunteer sign up with our partners Support Staffordshire

    So who are we helping?

    • People who are vulnerable, isolating, and cannot pay.

Those who will need food or other provisions but cannot get the supplies themselves, or through a relative/friend, or delivered by a supermarket and are not able to pay for them.

We, Support Staffordshire and other voluntary and community groups, will obtain the food and deliver it to them.

    • People who are vulnerable, isolating, who can pay for food but are not able to get it delivered. You can order your shopping from Central England Co-operative Call and Collect Service.

We will take their food order from an agreed list. The parcel will be put together by the Co-op, payment taken and we will collect and deliver the provisions for them.

Please note: The council will never ask you for your bank details over the phone.

    • We will be contacting residents directly to see if they are safe and well and to identify whether they need any support. We will then match that support to the volunteering network that we have in the borough to help - eg gardening, paying bills, dog walking.
    • We will ensure that anyone in the most ‘at risk’ category who has been written to by the NHS are supported through the signing up process for the national helpline which will send food parcels to them.
