What to do next

If you are a:

Current tenant of Homes Plus who needs to move and already have a transfer application - You don’t need to do anything. From August 2025, you will be contacted to re-register. From 1 September, Homes Plus will be in contact should a suitable property be available. Until then you can continue to bid for properties until Choice Based Lettings closes on 8 August 2025.

Band A - You don’t need to do anything. You can continue to bid for properties until 8 August 2025. From August 2025, you will be contacted to re-register. Homes Plus will contact you should a suitable property be made available.

Band B - You don’t need to do anything. You can continue to bid for properties until 8 August 2025. From August 2025, you will be contacted to re-register. After this date, Homes Plus will contact you should a suitable property be made available.

Band C - You will need to register for housing with Stafford Borough Council. If you are speaking to Homes Plus about your situation they can do this for you and refer your information to us for assessment. Alternatively, you can contact us and we will assess your housing need.

Band D - If you were placed in a bronze banding, this means that you do not have a housing need to move.

If you feel that the banding does not reflect your current housing situation, contact us and we will advise on your housing options.

Waiting list

Homes Plus are closing their waiting list. They are the largest provider of social housing in Stafford Borough with over 8000 properties. They will still be offering social housing to eligible residents in housing need.

The process to apply for housing will be changing. Applicants will no longer register and bid for social housing each week. Instead, applicants will apply for social housing through us and be nominated for a suitable property, which will include social housing from all social housing providers in the Borough.

This will ensure that those with the highest housing need will be allocated the most suitable properties, making best use of limited social housing in the Borough.
