Maximilian Catalano, a British/Italian Baritone is studying for a Masters degree at the Guildhall School of Music as a postgraduate student.
This year he made his operatic debut in Aylesbury Opera’s production of La Boheme and in the Guildhall’s summer opera scenes as Lepporello. He will shortly be performing in the Guildhall’s production of “Die Fledermaus”.
Last month Max flew to Madras where he performed in the Indian debut of Haydn’s “The Creation” for the Madras Guildhall of performing Arts with the Gustav Mahler Society Orchestra of Colombo.
Harriet Cameron studied Musical Theatre at Bridgwater and Taunton College before studying at the Royal Academy of Music where she graduated with a First Class Honours. She sang as soloist in Vivaldi’s “Beautus Vir” and “Dixit Dominus” with the Brandenburg Sinfonia. Last summer she won the “Most Promising Young Singer” award at the Somerset Song Prize.
She is currently rehearsing “The Rape of Lucretia” by Britten in the role of Lucia for this year’s British Youth Opera production. Harriet is a member of the Philharmonia Chorus Student Scheme as well as of the National Youth Theatre.
Alicia Hernandez completed her Bachelor’s Degree at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Musica de Madrid. She is a member of the Madrid Youth Orchestra and also sings in the Madrid Youth Choir. In July this year she was the repetiteur for “The Marriage of Figaro” at the Berlin Opera Academy where she played the harpsichord. She is in her second year of a Master’s in Piano Accompaniment at the Guildhall.
The first half of the concert covers Autumn and Winter with a 20/30 minute interval where refreshments (consisting of probably your first mince pie of the season and drinks) will be served. These are free of charge but for which donations are welcome.
The second half covers Spring and Winter. The songs cover the four seasons in different languages, emotions and styles and are very very enjoyable.
This concert is supported by Stafford District Arts Society and The Harding Trust.
