FARMEATS.COM is a consortium of local farmers and smallholders who share a passion for providing high quality food to the local community. They specialise in pure, rare or endangered breeds that are not readily available in supermarkets or other retail outlets and are expanding into seasonal vegetables and fruit as well as locally produced jams, chutneys, cheese, eggs and ice-cream. 55 The Hobbins
Oaken eggs produce free range eggs from a small flock of around 600 chickens. Food is sourced or grown locally and is GM free. The eggs are packed quickly and sold very fresh. They also have a few ducks, quail, guinea fowl and geese. Eggs from these are sold when available. Some meat birds are also produced. These are kept under free range conditions and allowed to grow slowly. Oaken Eggs also attend Penkridge Farmers' market and sell through Bradshaws and Cosford Grange Farm Shops, butchers in Brewood (Mr. Maiden) and Ford Houses (Mr. Chandler) and Nutmeg Health Food Shop in Wombourne.

The Staffordshire Cheese Co use local milk and other ingredients to produce hand crafted cheeses. They have a Specialist Cheesemakers Quality Evaluation and John Knox is a Registered Lead Assessor of Quality Systems, Accredited Food and Business Consultant and Master of Science. It is a family business where cheese is handmade to original recipes. Cloth bound cheese, rindless, washed curd and surface mould ripened are included in the range of cheese types. Cheeses can be bought mail order or at Stafford, Bakewell, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Sutton Coldfield Farmers' Markets.

Peter produces 'traditional breeds for quality meats' and his 'bacon how it used to be' is a market favourite using curing methods that are over 100 years old and produce bacon that doesn't disappear in the pan like that from supermarkets. Hand-made sausages, black puddings and pork products are also produced. Peter attends Lichfield, Ripley, Belper, Derby, Heanor, Ilkeston, Bakewell and Harington Country Fair Farmers' Markets and sells direct from the farm and mail order too.
