Music, dancing and street theatre will be coming to Stafford in May as part of a festival to show the town’s position on the world’s stage.
Stafford in the World is now in its fifth year and will be take place in Market Square, in the heart of Stafford, on Saturday 23 May 2020 - and organisers are urging charities, groups and businesses to book a place on the day to showcase their work.
The Stafford Borough Council event celebrates the huge variety of links that the town has with many different parts of the world as well as the wealth of connections and relationships. The day offers everyone the opportunity to celebrate Stafford and its successes on the world stage.
Thousands of people are expected to come into town to see what is on offer and take advantage of what charities, business and community groups have to showcase.
The festival has become more popular with shoppers and visitors each year with around 25 organisations attending in 2019 including Choices Housing, Soroptimist International and Chernobyl Children’s Project.
Councillor Jeremy Pert Cabinet Member for Communities and Health said “Stafford has an amazing wealth of connections around the globe and we want this festival to be a fantastic opportunity to explore many of their hidden depths. The greater variety the better.”
Marquees will be open from 9am with performances throughout the day.
