Thousands of people are expected to descend on Stafford this weekend for the sixth annual Cheese and Ale Festival.
The 2019 food fest takes place over Saturday and Sunday (22 and 23 June) and features an array of artisan made cheeses and brewed ales.
The event has grown in popularity over the years and will again feature the cookery theatre in the heart of the town with guest chefs from the Great British Bake Off demonstrating their culinary talents to the public, as well as music and children’s activities.
Stalls will line the streets with food and drink traders showcasing their products – and a range of tasting opportunities for shoppers and visitors.
The event is organised by Cocker Hoop Creative alongside the Borough Council and the Town Centre Partnership.
The event gets under way from 9am on Saturday (22nd) in the Market Square and surrounding streets.
Councillor Frances Beatty, Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Planning, said: “The festival has had a phenomenal few years, attracting so many people to the town, and this weekend is shaping up to be just as popular.
“The event is in such a great setting in the heart of our county town and we know it pulls in crowds from across Staffordshire and beyond with traders telling us about the excellent business they conducted in previous years.”
Chair of Stafford Town Centre Partnership, Mary Walker, added: "What a great month it is for Stafford town centre. We have just had the successful Ironman event which brought thousands in to town - and now we look forward to a feast of food and drink with our annual Cheese and Ale Festival which always proves a real hit with residents and visitors."
