Stafford Borough Council is on the look out for unsung heroes from across the area.
The council is asking people and organisations to show off the good work they are doing in their communities by entering their annual awards.
The Community Awards - which are now in their third year - rewards the efforts of local people, businesses schools and other groups that help to improve community wellbeing.
Last year the initiative attracted more than 50 entries. They are open to all people, groups and organisations operating within the borough with projects that have taken place within the last 12 months.
Councillor Jeremy Pert, Cabinet Member for Communities and Health, said: “This is a great way to say thank you to those who go that extra mile to make Stafford Borough a better place to live, work and visit.
“It was a tremendous event last year and I was honoured to be among so many inspirational people and hear about all the selfless work they were doing for the benefit of others.
“The work they do often goes unnoticed so these awards give us the opportunity to pay tribute to them and demonstrate that we value all that they do.”
The closing date for nominations and applications is Sunday 8 September. The awards ceremony will be held in November.
There are five categories relating to:
- Business and the Economy
- Community Action
- Environmental Improvement
- Social Wellbeing
- Local Hero (under 18)
- Local Hero (over 18)
