Mayoral rewind as Barbara visits parlour


    Barbara Bower revisits Mayor's Parlour

    The oldest surviving former First Citizen of the Borough paid a visit to the Mayor’s parlour more than 30 years after being in office.

    Barbara Bower, who is 98 years old, served as the Borough’s Mayor between 1986 and 1987.

    She returned to the parlour as part of a group from the Crispin Court Residential Home in Stafford who had been invited to meet current Mayor, Councillor Aidan Godfrey.

    Councillor Godfrey, said: “Barbara is an amazing lady and it was an absolute pleasure to see her in the parlour and I hope it brought back some happy memories for her.”
