Stafford roadshow welcomes visitors on way to games

    A park in Stafford will be hosting a roadshow to welcome visitors on their way to a top sporting event on Cannock Chase. 

    Music, food and drinks are on the menu at the award-winning Victoria Park to help create an upbeat atmosphere for spectators as they head for the Commonwealth Games Mountain Bike event on Wednesday (3 August). 

    The men’s and women’s mountain biking is being held on the Chase with thousands of visitors expected to make the journey to the event via shuttle bus, after arriving by train at Stafford Railway Station - which is on the doorstep of Victoria Park. 

    Local radio station, Stafford FM, will be hosting a roadshow all day in the park with live music expected in the afternoon. Hot and cold food will be available and there will also be face painting.

    Victoria Park has recently retained its ‘Green Flag’ as one of the best open spaces in the UK having received a £2.5m Heritage Lottery funded transformation in 2020.
