Singing, dancing, and street theatre will be coming to Stafford in May as part of a festival to show the town’s influence on the world’s stage.
Stafford in the World is now in its third year and will take place in the town’s Market Square on Saturday 26 May 2018.
The Stafford Borough Council event celebrates the huge variety of links that the town has with many different parts of the world.
Thousands of people are expected to come into town to see what is on offer and will get a glimpse of what charities, business and community groups have to offer around the globe.
The festival has been popular with shoppers and visitors with around 20 organisations showcased their work in 2017 - including 22 Signal Regiment who are based at the Beacon Barracks in Stafford and Perkins Engines, whose engines power the flood defences on the Seine in Paris and provide prime power for the cities of Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Councillor Jeremy Pert, Cabinet Member for Communities, said: “Stafford has an amazing variety of connections around the globe which many residents and visitors to the town will not be aware of - and we want this festival to be a fantastic opportunity to showcase them as Stafford reaches out into the wider world.”
Marquees will be open from 9am until 4pm with performances throughout the day.
