On Monday 26 June 2023 Planning Inspector Gareth Jones allowed the appeal by Serco opposing the decision to refuse planning permission for the ‘change of use’ of former student halls of residence to asylum seeker accommodation.

A public inquiry was held over four days and included evidence from members of the public.
