The Queen’s Baton Relay (QBR) will visit Stafford and Stone on Tuesday 19 July afternoon on its way to the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham at the end of the month.
Nineteen Batonbearers who were nominated for the great work they do in our communities and beyond will be carrying the baton along the relay route. Check out our news release.
In Stafford
The relay will leave the entrance of Stafford Castle mid afternoon and travel along Newport Road to arrive around 30 minutes later in Victoria Park. It will leave the park and be taken by vehicle to Stone. More details on exact timings will be shared soon.

In Stone
The baton will arrive at the Stone Leisure Centre and then be carried through the town and back up the High Street before returning to the Canoe Club. It will leave for Staffordshire Moorlands via vehicle afterwards. More details on exact timings will be shared soon.
One of the highlights of the relay will see the baton taking to the water in Stone as part of a slalom at the Canoe Club.
