The Council's Streetscene service is responsible for looking after Stafford Borough's public spaces and provides a range of services that enable Stafford Borough residents to live in a community that is clean and tidy.
Much of their work focuses on care for the environment.
A key part of their work role is Grounds Maintenance and Street Cleansing which includes grass cutting, road sweeping, weed-killing, cleaning up dog mess, emptying litter bins, attending to council owned trees, removing dead animals from the roadside and pavements and cleaning council owned toilets.
Streetscene encourage and support Community Litter Picks, are happy to lend litter pickers and provide green bags to groups and organisations who wish to arrange litterpicks - and will arrange a suitable time and place for you to leave the bags and our teams will collect and dispose of them for you.
We regularly work with business, community and residents' groups, schools, parish councils and private individuals and we also look after hanging baskets, roundabouts and flower beds in our parks, and commemorative flower beds.
Streetscene often relies on the public to tell them where particular localised problems are. To report problems please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call on 01785 619000.
Many of those who work with Streetscene cycle to work - another way to help the environment - and so new secure cycle parking has been installed at Streetscene's Riverway depot in response to the growing numbers of employees who are turning to two wheels!
We are also installing additional secure cycle parking at the main Civic Centre very soon.
